Children's
classes
Our classes
are for beginners who are
interested in learning how to draw
and/or paint to improve
their visual arts
skills.
Drawing is the foundation of all of the visual arts and
to draw well requires practice and perseverance.
Fortunately many of the basics can be taught, thereby
eliminating a lot of the trial and error of learning by
yourself. In this
classes children
will;
- be taught proven methods and techniques to
improve their drawing skills
- learn how to continue to improve either with self
study or guided lessons
In
our
classes you will learn basic skills that will
help you to draw and paint
well. You will be able to take these skills and continue
to use them to improve your own drawing
and painting techniques.

our events
Term 1 Workshop - Drawing
At the end of each term we conduct a half-day workshop. Small and incomplete classes join and form a full class for one day. The teacher does a drawing or a painting at the easel and the class follow in their own places. This work is started and finished in one three hour session and it contains elements that were learned during the term.
Term 2 Workshop - TBD -
The second workshop was going to be in acrylics... but I don't teach painting in acrylics. The subject is chosen by the class prior to the date. Teacher will have canvas boards outlined and ready to be painted on.
Term 3 Workshop - Soft Pastels
Soft pastels is done later in the year to give time to those that chose to do the pastels class. For those that haven't this is an adventure into the wonderful world of colour that soft pastels open to us.
Term 4 Workshop - Oils.
Finally the King of all Mediums, at least for the teacher it is... A painting with brushes and in oils, depicting a subject chosen in anticipation by the students. It can be a landscape, a seascape, a still life or a portrait. The little ones will do a watercolour painting.
